Welcome to West Sandhills District

As we begin a new year of gardening together, allow me to welcome you to West Sandhills District. I am Juanita Motley and I am honored to serve as your director for the 2011-2013 term. Our clubs are busy working together in furtherance of the National and State objectives to “Initiate, Collaborate, Celebrate.”
The theme I have chosen for this term is “Plant, Grow, Show.” To further define this we should be busy planting those things we love, watching and caring for the growing plants, and finally, we should “show off” our plants. Show them at club meetings, to our friends, and in flower shows. Flower shows are important in carrying out our theme of educating the public. Let’s all try to have a flower show once each term. If your club is too small for a show, then join with another club and have a joint show. Above all with your flower shows and all projects, do a Book of Evidence and gather the awards that are there for the taking. It is a shame for your hard work to go unnoticed by others. Remember too that others learn from sharing what we have done through our Books of Evidence. As you know, there are district and state awards, as well as SAR and National awards. Keep in mind also that money comes with some of the awards. Why not it be you?
Feel free to contact me if I can assist you in any way. The committee chairmen I have chosen for this term are identified in the District area of Members Only. Please contact them if they may be of help to you.
We are here to serve you.
