Welcome to East Piedmont District
East Piedmont District Director for 2011-2013, Jackie Palmer, resides in Lancaster, SC, with her husband, Dave. They are members of Myers Park Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, and count a combined family of 9 grown children, their spouses, 14 grandchildren, and an assortments of pets. Since retirement from her 30 years in the catering business, Jackie has given her energies to pursuing her first love...GARDENING. She recently served as President of the Lancaster Garden Club, and in the 1970's BC (before catering) served as her club and council president, Landscape Critic of SC, attended 4 courses of Flower Show School, and was appointed to serve as an advisor to the SCHD for Roadside Beautification. It was during this time that she introduced Clara Elmore, GCSC President, 1973-75, to the South Carolina Highway Commission, and the SC "Operation Wildflower" program was initiated. She is eager to start "all over again" her landscape and flower design course work and to assist all garden clubs throughout the East Piedmont District with any challenges that may arise.
