GrassRoots Green:

Help the environment this holiday season by creatively wrapping your gifts. Note that wrapping papers purchased in stores are not usually made of re-cycleable materials. The use of these papers fills our landfills with millions of tons of unnecessary debris each year.
Wrapping Tips: Try using the comic section of the newspaper, an old map, a pretty scarf, a dishtowel or other piece of fabric/paper than can be recycled to wrap your gifts.
If every family wrapped just three gifts this way it would save enough paper to cover 45,000 football fields!

Other ideas that don't involve wrapping at all :
Donate a tree to a city park or other public area in honor of a person, give gift subscriptions to family members, perhaps to a local museum, park or garden center, or to organizations like The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club or Heifer International. Buy bulbs or shrubs.. perhaps even a pretty potted Meyer lemon tree. There are lots of ways to 'Go Green' this holiday season ! Happy Holidays!

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW???

WATCH THIS SITE FOR
"GOOD TO GROW"

The Good to Grow program isn’t just about raising fruits and vegetables - its about getting kids to eat them too. If you know a picky eater that refuses to even try something new - let alone something green, red, or orange, try this. Introduce vegetables by stirring them into a favorite food.
